Liisa Tuhkala
Liisa Tuhkala founded Bahiti belly dance in 2010, and is continuing on with the Bahitian ways in Calgary. From 2010-2013, Liisa has been the lead instructor, lead choreograper, and head of Bahiti since the beginning, and since moving to Calgary, has decided to pass on the Penticton branch to Vanessa. In the fall of 2010, Liisa's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and Liisa decided to put her new business to good use and start up a Breast Cancer Foundation fundraiser that she coined: Shimmy For a Cure. Every year since 2010, Liisa with the help of the Bahiti girls, they have been able to organize a fundraiser with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
